Things that I love

Cats & Coffee….

I have lived in Williamsburg, Brooklyn for over 20 years and have a love affair with my neighborhood and Brooklyn. I love the diversity of the people, the neighborhoods, the art, history and mix of old and new. There is nothing that makes me happier than exploring my neighborhood and sharing it with other people.  Every time I go out for a walk I find something new.

I have had the opportunity to travel all over the world and I have always enjoyed getting off the beaten path.  My experiences involved hiking in places such as Turkey, Ireland, Colombia, Scotland, Australia (and others) walking tours through cities, taking in the rich culture of each place… the arts, food, history and most importantly to me, the people.  having been on many walking tours, and while they were amazing and enriching, I would eventually get bored and wanted to move at a faster pace.

Maybe it is the New York in me and I have this urge to keep moving, or maybe it is that I realize there is SO MUCH to see in this big world of ours that I don’t want to waste a precious moment of exploring time.  This was the impetus for starting BklynTreks, tours that move at a faster pace, covering a lot of ground, thus allowing our explorers to take in Brooklyn in a relatively short amount of time (AND get in our exercise and meet our step goals for the day).

How quintessential New York is that?  How much can you fit into a New York minute?

Come join me and find out!
